Description

A fine red wine of Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux by Chateau D’Aiguilhe

The estate
Chateau d'Aiguilhe is today one of the most beautiful estates of Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux on the right bank of Bordeaux. During the Hundred Years War, this chateau served an important role as a fortified agricultural exploitation. Today entirely dedicated to viticulture, the property has belonged to the Comtes Von Neipperg vineyards since 1998.

The vineyard
The Chateau d'Aiguilhe vineyards extend over almost 90 hectares in the heart of the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation. The vineyard is exclusively planted in clay-limestone and clay-loam soils.

The winemaking
Manual harvest from September 19 to October 5. Vinification in oak and concrete tanks. Extraction by pneumatic punching down. 35 days fermentation.

The aging
Aging in new French oak barrels (30%). Aging on fine lees.

The blend
Merlot (88%), cabernet franc (12%).
