The property
The Château Bastor-Lamontagne is a property located within the Sauternes appellation, with origins dating back to the 18th century.
The vineyard
Château Bastor-Lamontagne extends its vineyard over an area of 52 hectares in one piece. This Sauternes property has been certified in Organic Agriculture since the 2016 harvest and High Environmental Value Level 3 since 2020. The vines are planted on a terroir made up of sand, gravel, clay and limestone.
The vintage
A mild and relatively dry winter precedes a rainy spring. The summer is punctuated by high heat in mid-August as well as beneficial rains and storms. The heatwave recorded at the end of August - beginning of September promotes a rapid development of maturities before the harvest carried out in three successive tries.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest before a slow extraction carried out by plot. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation is finalized in barrels (partly new). The aging lasts 12 to 18 months in barrels (30% new).
Blend
Sémillon (80%)
Sauvignon blanc (20%).
