Cabernet Franc is a newer, revitalized wine in the Channing Daughters’ portfolio. Previously, the Cabernet Franc grape was used to make a delightful Rosati, but in 2015 the winery brought back this variety to make a bright, fresh, ready to drink red wine. This 2017 vintage is bursting with notes of raspberries, cherries and plums with a spicy herbal finish. Made of 93% Cabernet Franc and 7% Merlot, this lighter bodied wine is refreshing and easy to drink with silky tannins. The Cabernet Franc grapes are hand harvested, de-stemmed and crushed by foot. The wine is aged for eight months in older oak. Pair with a charcuterie spread before a meal or enjoy with pasta or pizza. Grab one bottle to drink now and another to age for about five years and enjoy its complex evolution.
