Tasting Notes and Characteristics of Triennes Rosé 2025 by Triennes
Tasting
Color
Triennes Rosé 2025 displays an attractive pale salmon-pink hue, typical of the fresh, delicate rosé style favored in contemporary Provence winemaking.
Nose
The nose is expressive and layered, opening on notes of red berries and citrus fruit, with a playful touch of marshmallow that lends the wine a candy-shop-like sweetness on the aromatic side, all while remaining fresh and inviting.
Palate
On the palate, this rosé is round and harmonious, free of any rough edges, offering a medium body with well-integrated acidity that keeps the wine lively. The texture is nicely balanced between freshness and softness, leading to a bright finish carried by flavors of ripe red fruit.
Food and wine pairings
Triennes Rosé 2025 is an elegant, versatile wine, perfectly suited to serving as an aperitif or alongside a summer meal. It pairs particularly well with appetizers, cold starters, and fish dishes, including grilled fish, where its freshness and fruit-driven profile bring a pleasant contrast to smoky, savory flavors.
Serving and cellaring
Triennes Rosé 2025 is best enjoyed chilled, served at around 50°F (10°C), which highlights its aromatic freshness while allowing its round, harmonious texture to fully express itself.
Triennes Rosé 2025: A Fresh Mediterranean IGP Rosé from Provence, Var
The Estate
Founded in 1990 in Nans-les-Pins, in the Var department of Provence, in southeastern France, Triennes was created by Burgundy winemakers Jacques Seysses, of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, alongside their friend Michel Macaux. Today, the estate belongs to SAS Dujac while remaining closely linked to its founders' original vision. Spanning 46 hectares and entirely certified organic since 2011, Triennes combines Burgundian precision with a Mediterranean spirit, producing white, rosé, and red wines under the IGP Méditerranée designation.
The Vineyard
The fruit for Triennes Rosé comes from vineyards located in Nans-les-Pins, nestled between the Sainte-Baume massif and Mont Aurélien, at an altitude of roughly 380 to 400 meters, on clay-limestone soils well suited to viticulture in this part of the Var. While Triennes cultivates its own certified organic vines under the IGP Méditerranée designation, this rosé is produced as part of the estate's négociant activity, drawing on grapes and wine sourced from carefully selected neighboring vineyards, with yields generally ranging between 45 and 55 hectoliters per hectare.
Winemaking and aging
Triennes Rosé 2025 is made from grapes harvested at night to preserve freshness and protect the fruit from oxidation. Once cooled, the grapes are pressed directly, and the resulting juice undergoes a fine lees maceration before the wine is aged on fine lees, a technique that brings roundness and texture. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, allowing precise temperature control and preserving the purity of the aromatics.
Grape Varieties
Triennes Rosé 2025 is a blend led by cinsault, complemented by syrah, grenache, and merlot.
