The Brand: Don Julio

It was in 1942 that Don Julio González, founder of the eponymous distillery Don Julio, saw an opportunity in tequila production. Armed with nothing but his devotion, he managed to secure a loan through a businessman. This is how he opened his first distillery.

Regarding agave as if it were his own children, he rose at dawn every day to tend to his fields. Each plant was harvested one by one, so that only agaves with optimal health and maturity would be selected.

A tequila born of an exceptional terroir

Don Julio Reposado is the distillery's first premium aged Tequila. Launched in 1987, it was created to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Don Julio house. It hails from Jalisco, in Mexico.

The high altitude of the terroir (6,500 feet above sea level) makes cultivation and harvesting physically demanding. However, this microclimate of sunny days and cool nights, combined with the region's clay soil, provides optimal conditions for growing blue agave.

A production method that showcases true craftsmanship

A premium spirit and a true reference in Mexico, this Reposado Tequila is made exclusively from hand-harvested blue agaves. Only the heart of the distillate is kept after distillation, owing to the aromatic richness it offers. Once distilled, the tequila is aged for 8 months in American oak barrels, allowing its aromas to fully express their potential.

Appearance
The color reveals a light amber hue with golden highlights.

Nose
The fruity nose (caramelized cherries, walnuts, and almonds) releases fragrances of chocolate, cinnamon, oak, and vanilla.

Palate
Spicy and agave-forward, the palate seduces with aromas of dried tropical fruit and vanilla. A thread of sweet agave, intertwined with notes of oak and vanilla, supports a smooth, richly structured finish.
