The
Rully appellation covers nearly
350 hectares in the heart of the Cote Chalonnaise. It is shared between Chagny and Rully communes. Out of all of the Rully appellation
climats, 23 are classified as
Premier Cru. The vines, located between 230 and 300 meters above sea level, are planted on calcareous brown soil in which clay is for the red variety
Pinot Noir and clay-limestone for the white variety
Chardonnay. They whites develop
floral, citrus, white peach and
flint aromas in their youth, and then reveal
honey, ripe fruit and
dried fruit notes as they age. They are
fruity wines that offer
roundness, fat and an incredible
length. The Rully red wines have
red and black fruit aromas, as well as
empyreumatic, floral and
cooked fruit notes. Their
tannins melt pleasantly on the palette.
