Nicolas Rossignol represents the 5th generation of winemakers in the family in the Volnay appellation in Burgundy.

Nicolas Rossignol has been in charge of winemaking at Domaine Rossignol-Jeanniard since 1994, and trained at a number of different estates (Domaine Louis Latour in Ardèche, Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Boschendal in South Africa and Château La Cardonne in Bordeaux under the management of Château Lafite Rothschild).

Nicolas Rossignol created his eponymous estate in 1997, covering 3 hectares in the Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses appellations.

The vineyard now covers a total area of 17 hectares across 30 different appellations, following the merger of the two estates, Rossignol-Jeanniard and Nicolas Rossignol, in 2011 and the purchase of a number of high-quality plots over the years. The wines are made from vines grown in the traditional way, using sustainable methods inspired by biodynamics and taking into account lunar influence, without the use of chemical weedkillers.
