Bodegas El Nido Wines : Key Points

Bodegas El Nido rests in the Valley of Aragona, a valley that is situated 10 kilometers away from the village of Jumilla, in the south east of Spain. The winery is part of a larger group, Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares, and was founded in 2002 following an in-depth study of the winemaking potential in Jumilla.

The old vines are rooted in limestone and stony soils and are poised at a high altitude, between 700 and 850 meters above sea level. The plots are planted with 32-hectares of Monastrell, 12 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1.8 acres of Syrah, which enjoys a north-facing sun exposure.

The Gil family have been working with the illustrious Australian oenologist, Chris Ringland and together they craft exquisite Spanish wines that exude a fruity and concentrated expression while preserving a well-balanced and fresh profile.
