Franciacorta is located on the north Italia, more precisely in Lombardie, 100 kilometers away from Milan. Sparkling Franciacorta history started in 1570 when Brescia doctor’s, Girolamo Conforti testified that a wine produced in the Franciacorta region had a “lot of virtues” and “bite”, in others words sparkling. Today, 100 producers are making Franciacorta. In 1995, Franciacorta was the first Italian Brut dry wine which obtained the DOCG- Denominazione d’origine Controllata Garantita. Franciacorta is produced from single variety or severals : Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot blanc. This wine is finally obtained after 25 months of wine processing when the harvest is finished- including refermentation in the bottle, and then a slow maturation and ageing on the lees, no fewer than 18 months.
