Clos du Marquis 2013

 A case of 6 Magnums (1.5L)

2013 Saint-Julien, Bordeaux.

The Clos du Marquis cuvee was first created in 1902. This wine from Clos du Marquis is produced from the grapes located west of the vineyard. This 2013 Saint-Julien is a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc.
The very smooth 2013 Clos du Marquis reveals a certain density, freshness and a great precision. The wine develops elegant aromas of black cherry mixed with tobacco leaves notes. Dominated by elegant Cabernets Sauvignon, the 2013 Clos du Marquis possesses outstanding tannins and an undeniable distinction.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2013 Clos du Marquis has a commendable bouquet with lifted, brambly black fruit, bay leaf and an attractive seaweed note. The palate is medium-bodied, a little hard on the entry and quite structured for a 2013. If you can abide the austerity, not a common trait for Clos du Marquis, you will enjoy this wine, especially its tertiary/undergrowth-influenced finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
