After a rainy beginning to the year, which posed a high risk of mildew, a beautifully dry and hot summer allowed for a great vintage at Chateau La Cabanne.
Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, Chateau La Cabanne has a 9-hectare vineyard with an exceptional terroir in the prestigious Pomerol appellation, known for its blue clay soils. The blend is dominated by Merlot (94%), the emblematic grape variety of Pomerol, supplemented by Cabernet Franc (6%).
A magnificent success for the property, the Chateau La Cabanne 2018 presents a beautiful deep red color with hints of purple. An intensely fruity nose reveals fresh red fruits, evoking strawberry and cherry. On the palate, the wine reveals a delicious meaty and unctuous texture, and flavors of juicy, delicious fruit. The tannins offers a beautiful finesse, ripeness and structure on the palate, supported by a strong tension and a balanced acidity. The length of the finish is remarkable, leaving behind tasty flavors and plenty of freshness. A delicious, fruity Pomerol, full of freshness and harmony.
