Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2013 Comte de M is mostly a 55/21 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with Syrah and Mourvÿdre filling out the blend, aged for 23 months in new French oak. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. A bit more dense and powerful than the Estate red reviewed this issue, this, more importantly, has a very different flavor profile. The Cab Franc (hopefully, the green hints are only from the Franc) results in nuances from herbs and a trace of green around the edges. It is mild, but it gives the wine admirable complexity. It took an hour for this to open upâÇölonger than the Estate redâÇöbut when it did, it drank beautifully. This is another well done Comte de M, but it doesn't blow away its less expensive siblingâÇöat least today. As time goes on, they may separate. This seems likely to hold better. Let's start here and let it prove its case in the cellar. Sourced from 24-year-old vines between 960 and 1,050 meters high, this is the winery's high-end red.
