Description
The Elegance and Freshness of a Very Promising Fronsac
Chateau Dalem’s new vintage, the Chateau Dalem 2017 confirms the estate’s status as a key reference point for the promising Fronsac appellation on the Right Bank of the Bordeaux region.
A flagship of the Fronsac appellation, Chateau Dalem extends over a vineyard with a prestigious terroir, situated upon clay-limestone plateaus and hillsides with the typical molasses fronsadais soil of the area.
Product of a precocious and quite challenging vintage, the Chateau Dalem 2017 shines through as a very expressive wine. The extreme care taken both in the vineyard and in the winery made it possible to achieve fruit in excellent sanitary condition and at optimal phenolic maturity. The vinifications were carried out without added sulfur, a testament to the hard work completed at all stages of the winemaking process. Soft extractions have brought out the purity of fruit, subtly structured by a maturation of barriques of medium or light toast (40% of which are new). Brigitte Rullier-Loussert, who has run the estate since 2002, has developed this wine according to her own vision: to reveal a pure expression of the terroir through a singular identity.
Notes of ripe red fruit express the generosity of Merlot (90%), complemented by delicate floral notes and the subtle spicy notes typical of Cabernet Franc (10%). The Chateau Dalem 2017 boasts an elegance and freshness perfectly placed on the palate, built upon a precise frame, highlighted by tannins of great finesse. A nice 2017 vintage that guarantees a most promising evolution.
