Jose Dhondt

José Dhondt is a third-generation winegrower, currently at the helm of this small estate on the main road in Oger. José himself has been making wine here since 1976. Dhondt owns five hectares of vines, primarily in Oger, but also in the neighboring village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and in Saudoy in the Sézanne. He grows both chardonnay and pinot noir. His winemaking facility is located on the outskirts of the village, housing a traditional Coquard vertical press along with a full array of temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks that he uses for fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is always carried out, to balance the naturally high acidity of the Côte des Blancs chardonnay.
