Corton-Charlemagne

Situated at the boundary between the Cote de Nuits and the Cote de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne is an appellation in the Cote d'Or producing dry white wine. These vineyards were given to the Church in 775 by the Emperor Charlemagne. A pale gold, with age Corton-Charlemagne wines transform with nuances of amber and yellow. The bouquet, wealth and distinction of Corton-Charlemagne indicate a remarkable acidity, perfectly controlled by a round opulence on the palate. The Chardonnay grape rarely establishes such a close relationship with the character of its terroir as it does here.
