The intense, ruby coloured Chateau Palmer 2007 is forward and expressive, with really pleasant yet rich fruit aromas (essentially raspberry and currant), along with vanilla notes: expressions from the ageing barrels. Refreshing, sharp with round, pleasant tannins, Palmer 2007 charms with fruits. Although not easily approached, this Margaux remains accessible without conceding its balance due to the vintage year effect. The freshness of this wine is particularly enjoyable and the finish graceful: a true success from a demanding vintage year.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
A blend of 49% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Petit Verdot, the 2007 Palmer possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as attractive smoky charcoal, blackberry, and plum aromas, good purity, excellent texture, and a soft, fleshy mouthfeel. It should drink well for 10-12 years.
