This Château La Lagune 2000 displays a deep robe. It gives off aromas of red berry, mint and cedar. The palate is bold and dynamic, broad and long, delicate and elegant. This Haut-Medoc was acknowledged to be one of the great successes of the vintage by the international wine press. You can try to pair it with grilled veal chops and ceps.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted in Bordeaux from an ex-château bottle, the 2000 La Lagune has a ripe brambly red fruit, raspberry preserve and rose petal scented bouquet that is attractive, if not the most complex 2000 Claret you will find. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, slightly disjointed tannins and a rather hollow finish that lacks substance and length. You are left feeling shortchanged by this very average La Lagune. Tasted April 2015.
