AMAND DE BRIGNAC CHAMPAGNE

Easily recognizable for its “Ace of Spades” emblem, Armand de Brignac Champagne is a relatively recent champagne brand, co-owned by rapped Shawn Carter (a.k.a. Jay Z) and luxury giant LVMH. The wines are produced by the Cattier family of Champagne and are known by champagne lovers for their liveliness, freshness and rich aromas.

The flagship of the portfolio is the Ace of Spades Brut Gold cuvée, which is a brut champagne (brut sparkling wine) with a dosage of 9.5 grams per Liter. Their range also includes the Ace of Spades Blanc de Blancs, the Ace of Spades Blanc de Noirs, the Ace of Spades Brut Rose and Ace of Spades Demi Sec champagne. These champagnes stand out for their one-of-a-kind bottle, which is coated in a thin layer of metal and fitted (by hand) with a French pewter label bearing the “ace of spades” icon.

BARONS DE ROTHSCHILD CHAMPAGNE

Founded in 2005 by the Rothschild family, the Barons de Rothschild Champagne House produces many different types of champagne. Their portfolio, one of the best in France, includes the Barons de Rothschild Champagne Brut (Non-Vintage), the Barons de Rothschild Champagne Blanc de Blancs (Non-Vintage), the Barons de Rothschild Brut Vintage 2010 and their Barons de Rothschild Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2008.

Baron de Rothschild Champagne stands out for the high proportion of reserve wines used in non-vintage blends, which can reach over 40%. This results in a higher degree of richness and depth in these champagnes, which are known to be fine, balanced and fresh.

BILLECART SALMON CHAMPAGNE

A historical champagne brand, created in 1818 by Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas-Francois Billecart, Billecart Salmon Champagne is today run by the 7th generation of the family. The boutique champagnes of Billecart Salmon are known for their signature style, which places elegance and freshness before power. A wide range of champagnes are made from the three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

The Billecart Salmon Champagne portfolio today includes a brut rose champagne, a brut nature (or zero dosage champagne), vintage blanc de blancs and vintage rosé styles. One of their most popular cuvees is the Champagne Billecart Salmon Brut Reserve bottling.

BOLLINGER CHAMPAGNE

A champagne brand with timeless elegance and style, Bollinger is also known as the favorite champagne of British secret agent James Bond and Queen Elizabeth II. The brand was first established in 1829 and became known as “the most British of champagnes” for its popularity in the market early on. The House’s historic matriarch Madame Bollinger has inspired the creation of their rare Bollinger RD Champagne.

Bollinger Champagne is characterized by great precision and a blend dominated by muscular yet elegant Pinot Noir, the brand’s flagship grape variety. Bollinger is best known for its signature Bollinger Special Cuvee Brut, as well as its Bollinger Rose Champagne, RD Recemment Degorge vintage champagne, its B13 Blanc de Noirs, PN VZ 16 Blanc de Noirs Brut champagne and its prestige Bollinger Champagne La Grande Annee.

CHARLES HEIDSIECK CHAMPAGNE

The Charles Heidsieck Champagne House was founded in 1951 by a 29 year old Charles-Camille Heidsieck, who acquired forty-seven chalk pits in which to age his champagnes. It is in this cool underground labyrinth of cellars that the wines evolve over time, developing great complexity and finesse over the course of 3 to 15 years.

Today, this brand is best known for the Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Champagne, which is complex, smooth, precise and deeply flavored.

DOM PERIGNON CHAMPAGNE

A world renowned brand owned by luxury giant LVMH, Dom Perignon Champagne is always produced as a vintage champagne and only in the best vintages. The brand is named after a monk by the name of Pierre Perignon, who is believed to have first discovered the Champenoise method. The blends are created from the three grape varieties that make up the Champagne Blend: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Dom Perignon is today best known for its exquisite vintage champagnes, like the Dom Perignon Vintage 2012 or Dom Perignon Vintage2010. The portfolio also includes the Dom Perignon Champagne Cuvee Vintage Luminous, whose label glows in the dark, and special editions like the Dom Perignon Lady Gaga Champagne. DRAPPIER CHAMPAGNE

Drappier Champagne is a brand created in 1808 and still run by the Drappier family. A true pioneer in Champagne, the House of Drappier led the way in the introduction of the Pinot Noir grape variety to Champagne and to the reduction of sulfur levels in their finished product. Pinot Noir remains the flagship grape of the brand today.

Drappier Champagne is also known for being the only champagne house to do a secondary fermentation (prise de mousse) on all of its bottle formats, ranging from the standard champagne bottle of 75mL to the 27 liter Primat. The brand’s best known cuvee is the Drappier Champagne Carte d’Or, which is available on our site in a wide range of large formats: Magnum, Jeroboam, Mathusalem, Melchisedech and Primat!

KRUG CHAMPAGNE

Founded in 1843 by a visionary winemaker named Joseph Krug, the House of Krug Champagne is today an aspirational luxury brand owned by LVMH. The brand was built on the founder’s idea that every great Champagne House should produce 2 cuvees: one offering a consistent expression of Champagne from one year to the next (non-vintage) and another showing the character of each great year in champagne (vintage).

From the idea behind Champagne #1, the Krug Grande Cuvee was born and from the other, the Krug Vintage Champagne. Additionally, the House today produces the sought-after Krug Rose Champagne and two world-famous single-vineyard bottlings: the Krug Champagne Clos de Mesnil and the Krug Champagne Clos d’Ambonnay. Krug Champagne is known for its unparalleled complexity and finesse.

LAURENT PERRIER CHAMPAGNE

The Laurent Perrier Champagne House dates back to 1812 and represents one of the greatest names in Champagne today. Chardonnay takes center stage in the cuvées of Laurent Perrier, although Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are featured as well. The Laurent Perrier signature style brings together elegance, refinement, freshness and roundness.

Today, the Laurent Perrier Champagne portfolio includes their flagship Laurent Perrier La Cuvee, their Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne La Cuvee, the Laurent Perrier Alexandra Rose vintage champagne and the prestige Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle Iteration # (25 and 23, for example).

LOUIS ROEDERER CHAMPAGNE

One of the largest Champagne Houses and a pioneer in the biodynamic champagne movement, Louis Roederer Champagne boasts a history stretching back to 1776. Today, the House reigns over more than 600 acres of vineyard land, exclusively made up of Grand Cru and Premier Cru plots. Their winemaking stands out for their meticulous plot-by-plot approach, which results in champagnes of dazzling complexity.

Today, the Roederer range features a wide range of sought-after cuvees, including the non-vintage Champagne Louis Roederer Collection 242 and Louis Roederer Collection 243, a vintage Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs, a vintage Louis Roederer Brut Nature, a vintage Louis Roederer Rose champagne and a vintage brut cuvee.

But by far Louis Roeder’s greatest claim to sparkling fame is their dazzling Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne, an exquisite vintage champagne wrapped in gold foil. Their winemaking stands out for the fact that each process is still carried out by hand, resulting in great finesse and elegance expressed in the finished cuvees.

Their portfolio features the popular Pol Roger Brut Reserve Champagne, their Brut Vintage Champagne, their Rose Vintage Champagne and their prestige cuvee, the Pol Roger Winston Churchill Champagne.

RUINART CHAMPAGNE

Believed to be the very first of the great Champagne Houses, Ruinart Champagne is today owned by the LVMH group. The House’s magnificent crayeres (labyrinthine underground chalk cellars) are a popular wine tourism attraction today and in 1931 were declared a French historic monument. Ruinart is also known as one of the greatest innovators in Champagne, most recently responsible for the 100% recyclable Second Skin packaging.

TAITTINGER CHAMPAGNE

The third largest vineyard owner in Champagne, Taittinger Champagne also puts the spotlight on the noble Chardonnay variety, which is most predominantly featuring in the brand’s unique champagnes. Chardonnay shines particularly bright in the Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, a 100% Chardonnay vintage champagne with an incredible breadth of flavor and finesse.

VEUVE CLICQUOT CHAMPAGNE
