Riposte : The Rapier Gewurztraminer 2010

Southern Australia - Adelaide Hills - White Riposte Riposte 2010 J1370/10
Following the fencing theme, this Gewurztraminer by Riposte is called the "Rapier", which is the name of a sword used in fencing. The grapes for this wine are coming from the Lenswood subregion of the Adelaide Hills, where they are grown by vineyard owners Jim and Kathy Flatt. The fermentation of this wine happens part in oak and part in stainless steel in order to retain freshness while bringing a layer of complexity. The Riposte "Rapier" Gewurztraminer is very floral with notes of lychee and ginger spice. While Gewurztraminer can sometimes be on the sweet side, this particular one finishes dry with very fresh acidity. A perfect pairing for Asian dishes filled with spice and ginger.
