Description
A red wine from Pauillac with very soft tannins
Produced in the Pauillac appellation, Château Pontet-Canet is a 5ème cru classé. Aged 40 to 45 years on average, the vines are planted on a total surface of 81 hectares. The vineyard benefits from a terroir composed of Quaternary gravel. The aging of the wine is carried out for 16 months in oak barrels (60% in new barrels).
At tasting, the Château Pontet-Canet 2002 develops fragrances of violets and red fruits on a subtle woody aroma. The attack is full and the palate is structured, distinguished, and full-bodied. The tannins are magnificent and incredibly soft. The length on the palate is fantastic.
