Description
A Lively and Expressive Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley
Domaine du Salvard is a historical estate in the Loire Valley, and has been managed by the Delaille family for five generations. The 42-hectares of vines are deeply rooted in the sand, clay and limestone plains of northeastern Tourraine. While brothers Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille focus on the fresh and lively Sauvignon Blanc varietal, they also grow Pinot Noir, Gamay and Cot from which they produce fresh and aromatic red wines as well. The Sauvignon Blanc Unique 2016 from Domaine du Salvard is an IGP Val de Loire wine produced from a 15 hectare vineyard, where the vines are aged 20 years on average. This 100% Savignon Blanc wine is fermented in thermoregulated stainless steel vats for 15 days and kept on its lees until bottling.
The Sauvignon Blanc Unique 2016 by Domaine du Salvard seduces with its color alone, a brilliant yellow with gorgeous green reflections. At the tasting, it reveals itself to be a very refreshing and lively wine. On the nose, this Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc expresses a very generous aromatic palette, made up of citrus fruits, like grapefruit, as well as mango. The attack on the palate is quite straightforward and firm, evolving a beautiful acidity and length, as well as a beautiful complexity of fruity flavours. A remarkably refreshing and well-structured IGP white wine, and a sure bet from the Loire Valley.
