Nestled in the heart of the magnificent Maures Mountains of Provence, in the Cotes de Provence appellation, Chateau Riotor expands over 85 hectares, of which 48 are planted with grape vines. The estate has remained in the Abeille family (owners of the famous Chateau Mont-Redon in Chateauneuf-du-Pape) for four generations, producing high quality rosé wines from Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle (Vermentino) grapes, grown in sandstone and red schist soils. Here, the climate is Mediterranean, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters. The Chateau Riotor Cotes de Provence rosé 2017 was matured in stainless steel vats for a few months before bottling, allowing the wine to maintain a fruity freshness that makes it a perfect pairing to a light, summertime meal. This wine is ready to drink now.

The Chateau Riotor Cotes de Provence rosé 2017 displays a beautiful color in the glass, reminiscent of pink rose petals with a pearly hue. On the nose, this Provence rosé expresses intense aromas of very ripe small berries (redcurrant and wild strawberries), exotic fruits (lychee), ripe pears and melon. On the palate, the flavors are consistent with the nose, offering tangy bits of citrus fruit, like grapfruit and kumquat as well. Notes of fennel and raw almond add a savory touch. Following a frank attack, this wine is very generous and fresh on the palate, with a rich, round body and smoothness persisting into a pleasant finish.
