Description

A delicate and complex Pauillac Second Grand Cru Classe

The estate

A Pauillac Second Grand Cru Classé, the glorious Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande rests proudly on the left bank of Bordeaux. In 2007, Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande began a new chapter in its history when it became part of the Rouzaud family, owners of the prestigious Louis Roederer Champagne House.

The vineyard

Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande watches over a 89-hectare terroir. Resting on soils composed of gravelly hilltops on a sandy-clay subsoil, this exceptional vineyard leads to the production of fine Pauillac wines.

Vinification and aging

Aged in barrels for 18 months (50% new).

The blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (75%)

Merlot (21%)

Cabernet Franc (4%).

Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2016: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

The refinement of this fine Pauillac wine brings out the most noble characteristics of each grape variety. The complexity conferred by the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harmoniously balances with the fruitiness of Merlot and the elegance of the Cabernet Franc variety.
