Description
A fresh and beautifully structured red wine from Saint-Estèphe
Château Lafon-Rochet is a red wine produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation. Aged 40 years on average, the vines of this 4ème cru classé are planted in deep gravel and gravel on clay. The wine was aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels (50% in new barrels). The 1996 vintage consists of a blend of 51% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.
At tasting, the Château Lafon-Rochet 2004 reveals an aromatic nose with sublime acidity. Balanced on the palate, it is fresh and offers very powerful tannins. One observes a pleasant aromatic palette, with flavors of cedar, hazelnuts and nutmeg. The finish combines density and power, underlining the freshness and tannic character of this wine. To be consumed now or before 2025 (tasted by the estate in 2015).
