Description
An Autographed Grand Vin of 2017 for Collectors
High Environmental Value certified since the 2016 vintage, Chateau Fleur Cardinale, a Classified Growth of Saint-Emilion, is a Bordeaux estate committed to the preservation of the soil and natural environment, relying increasingly on environmentally friendly agricultural techniques. In the glass, the quality abounds, progressing significantly from one vintage to the next. This great Bordeaux estate was hit hard by the frost of April 2017 and only the most important parcels of the Chateau Fleur Cardinale vineyard were spared. Production is therefore very limited and only 1,000 magnums of this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe are available on the market.
This 2017 vintage of Chateau Fleur Cardinale is clearly atypical. A very small production, bottled exclusively as magnums, this wine offers a blend dominant in Cabernet varietals (45% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon). The winemaking included a micro-vinification in 500 liter wooden barrels. The 2017 vintage is, above all, of very high quality, perhaps even equal to the 2016, which represents one of the best vintages of the property. The wine is very structured and dense (due to the influence of Cabernet), full of freshness and plenty of fruit. The Chateau Fleur Cardinale 2017 is a very rare wine, of which each bottle is numbered and autographed by Florence and Dominique Decoster.
