Description
The typicity of a red grand vin from Saint-Emilion
Product of a great vintage for the Bordeaux region, the Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle 2018 is a serious reference in the Saint-Emilion appellation.
Located on the right bank of Bordeaux, Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle is set on great clay-limestone soils, upon the clay-limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion. Spread over 10.6 hectares of vines, the vineyard was founded in the 15th century. Directed by Jacques Capdemourlin, Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle continues its ascent towards the top as one of the unmissable names of the Saint-Emilion appellation. The estate’s planting is dominated by Merlot (70%), supplemented by Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
The Chateau Balestard La Tonnelle 2018 is aged in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months (50% new wood and 50% barrels of one previous wine).
