Description
Malbec and Argentina are now synonymous with one each other in terms of wine, however this grape originally hails from Bordeaux. This is one reason why the proprietor of two famous Bordeaux Chateaux decided to open Bodega DiamAndes in 2005, just south of Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Included as one of four bodegas in the ‘Clos de los Siete,’ the vineyard where the grapes are sourced from lies specifically in the Uco Valley. The soil is made up of a balanced mixture of sand, silt and clay, known as loam with a good amount of pebbles to allow the vines to grow successfully.
The Bodega DiamAndes Perlita Malbec Syrah is full-bodied gem. It is fruity and dense from the Malbec but also spicy and smooth from the Syrah. The wine is filled with detectable flavors including dark fruits, plum, spices, anise and a bit of vanilla. Dry and high in tannin, this wine is a perfect counterpoint to meat dishes. Pair with any sort of stewed, roasted or grilled meat.
