Description
A fresh and vivacious white grand vin from Bordeaux
Produced by the prestigious Grand Cru Classe of Pauillac - Chateau Lynch-Bages – the Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2018 offers us a great white wine from the left bank of Bordeaux.
Produced in the Bordeaux blanc sec appellation, the Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2018 comes from a 7-hectare vineyard planted on Garonne gravel soils. Despite the first part of the year being marked by rainy weather, 2018 saw the production of perfectly healthy grapes, thanks to the beautiful summer season. At Chateau Lynch-Bages, the white grape harvest began on September 5th and ended on September 11th, 2018 with Semillon. The grapes were picked exclusively in the morning to preserve the freshness of the fruit.
The Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2018 is made from a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (59%), supplemented by Semillon (21%) and Muscadelle (20%). The wine was fermented mainly in barrels before maturing on lees for six months.
At the tasting, the Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2018 presents a beautifully pale and brilliant yellow color. Intensely expressive and fruity, the aromatic bouquet charms the nose with its summer fruit notes, reminiscent of white peaches, also punctuated with beautiful citrus notes. On the palate, the vintage seduces with its vivacity, revealing a broad and generous texture, while maintaining a great freshness. Very aromatic, the finish lingers long.
