Some of the best Riesling vines tended by Weingut Clemens Busch are found in the Marienburg vineyard across from their home-village of Punderich along the opposite banks of the Mosel river facing south to south-east in order to capture the most sunlight. Until the 1970s the Marienburg vineyard was actually considered several smaller vineyards, and not without reason. A variety of soil types and exposures lend different attributes to this wine which is from vines grown on various portions of the hillside. The Clemens Busch Marienburg Riesling Spatlese offers the perfect balance of fruit, sweetness, and acidity in a decidedly elegant style.
