Description
The Di Filippo Montefalco Rosso is produced from a blend of Sangiovese, Barbera, and the indigenous local variety Sagrantino. As with the other wines of Di Filippo, the hillside vineyards for the Montefalco Rosso are farmed according to organic and biodynamic principles. The wine is fermented in oak and stored in stainless steel tanks before bottling in order to preserve the freshness or fruit and spice. A medium bodied red with red fruit notes and hints of wood, the Di Filippo Montefalco Rosso will pair well with red meats and salami, as well as hard cheeses. Less than 2,000 cases produced each year.
