Description
The Fairbank Rouge by Sutton Grange Winery is a blend of mostly Syrah, fermented with Carbonic Maceration to retain the freshness of the fruit. The remainder of the blend is comprised of Merlot and a grape variety found mainly in Tuscany, Italy called Sangiovese. This wine displays a strong floral component with dark cherry fruit and an undertone of licorice. The Fairbank Rouge is a medium bodied wine with light tannin and balanced acidity. The wine finishes with a strong fruit characteristic and subtle spice notes. Coming from the cooler climate region of Bendigo, this wine stays lighter in alcohol than your typical Aussie Shiraz, making it very food friendly. The Sutton Grange Fairbank Rouge is a very small production wine with less than 500 cases made.
