Description
Out of a total of 18 hectares planted to vines by Cantina Scala, there are four hectares of Gaglioppo dedicated to the production of this Ciro Rosso. The hillside vineyards are located from 100 to 150 meters above sea level and are composed of sandy and clay. Fermented in cement vats for passive temperature control the wine then remains in these tanks for a minimum of one year prior to bottling. A brilliant, deep red color with an aromatic character, the Ciro from Cantina Scala, thanks to its distinct Gaglioppo identity - a grape indigenous to the region - is a great introduction to Calabrian red wines.
