Radikon "S" Pinot Grigio 2009

The Radikon Pinot Grigio is radically different from the typical, neutral, expressions of the grape with which most people are familiar. This Pinot Grigio is fermented in contact with its skins - which, unusual for a white wine, are very nearly red - and aged in barrel for a year prior to blending and bottling. The result is a highly aromatic, slightly tannic wine which is certainly more of a rose than it is a white. Thought-provoking and profound are words that often come up when Radikon's wines are discussed but it is equally valid (and important) to mention that they are delicious. This wine's flavors and structure allow it a huge versatility at the table, which is where it is truly meant to be enjoyed.
