The Cantine Polvanera 14 Primitivo comes from vineyards near the small town of Gioia del Colle in the Puglia wine region in south-eastern Puglia. The reds produced here, primarily from the Primitivo grape, are typically lush and robust. The Polvanera vineyards are farmed organically on sandy limestone soils that give the wine a beautiful pronounced minerality. The Cantine Polvanera 14 Polvanera Gioia del Colle opens with a rich bouquet of blackberry, plum, and floral notes balanced out by hints of graphite. The rich, smooth tannins make this lovely Primitivo easy to enjoy with a burger or firm cheeses.
