Zinfandel

Zinfandel is a red grape most commonly grown in California, in the USA, but also cultivated near its place of origin in the Puglia region of Italy. The classic red Zinfandel wine is medium-bodied with a high alcohol content, and profound flavors of jammy blackfruit (blueberry, cherry and plum) with notes of black pepper. This varietal is also used to produce an easy-drinking sweet White Zinfandel, popular in the USA.
