Description
A sophisticated and precise Pauillac wine
The second wine of Chateau Pichon Baron, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron, offers a pure and exemplary character that reflects the entire vineyard. There is a greater amount of Merlot blended into the wine that gives it its softness. More precisely, the blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. The wine was aged for 18 months, with 60% done in new oak barrels.
At tasting, the wine reveals a beautifully intense dark red color. The nose exudes freshness and complexity with fruitiness from blackberry and cassis fragrances. There are also delicately subtle oaky aromas with a touch of caramel. On the palate, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2014 is a fleshy, full-bodied wine with uniformity. There are tightly structured, powerful tannins. The finish gives a sophisticated and precise wine.
