Description
While Nebbiolo tends to take the lead in bottlings from Le Piane, their namesake wine is dominated by another grape indigenous to the Boca region: Croatina. While there is Nebbiolo in the blend to add more focus and control, this cuvee is about discovering and expressing the powerful character of Croatina. Aged for two years in barrel before further aging in bottle prior to release, the Le Piane shows dark, ripe fruits, tobacco and spice. Fuller bodied than Le Piane's other wines, the dark, wild character of Croatina makes this bottling unique.
