The Kaltern Pfarrhof Kalterersee Auslese comes from Alto Adige, in northern Italy. Kaltern comes from vines in the Lago di Caldaro region (better known to the German speakers of the region as Kalterersee). The Kaltern Pfarrhof Kalterersee is made from 100% Schiava, the common red grape variety in Trentino and Alto Adige. These reds are known for their bright cherry and raspberry fruits, with a bitter almond finish. The medium weight and bright acidity makes this wine perfect for charcuterie or enjoyed as an aperitif.
