Description
A Lively Chianti Classico with Supple Tannins
Situated in the Panzano zone in the prestigious Chianti Classico appellation of Tuscany, the Il Molino di Grace estate is named after a 19th century windmill, purchased – along with its villa and vineyards - by American-born Frank Grace in 1995. By 1998, Grace had transformed the villa into an art gallery and constructed a modern winery. The estate currently expands over 110 acres planted with vines, Sangiovese with an average age of 25 years, and some up to 55-70 years old. The vines stretch their roots deep into the classic soil of the appellation, a combination of marl and limestone locally referred to as galestro. Since the vintage of 2008, Il Molino di Grace has converted fully to organic agriculture, with the aim to produce pure Sangiovese wines with truly reflect the Tuscan terroir. The Il Molino di Grace Chianti Classico 2013 is a single-varietal Sangiovese wine produced in the Chianti Classico DOCG of Tuscany. In the glass, this wine displays a bright ruby color with garnet reflections. The bouquet unfolds gradually after swirling, revealing aromas of moist forest floor, leather and truffle, along with hints of plum and walnut. On the palate, this wine expresses juicy black fruit, including cherry, mixed with licorice and mint. A medium-bodied wine with supple tannins, the Il Molino di Grace Chianti Classico 2013 is quite lively and easy-drinking. This wine is best consumed after around 5 years in the bottle.
