Description
The G.D Vajra Freisa Kye comes from the San Ponzio Vineyard in the commune of Barolo. With elevation between 390-400 meters, the vineyards have clay rich soils with vines averaging 30 years of age. Sustainably farmed, the wine is aged for 12-18 months in Slavonian oak barrels and barriques until it achieves necessary balance. The G.D Vajra Freisa Kye is made from 100% Freisa, a grape variety that is lesser known despite its ancient relationship to the Nebbiolo grape. The G.D Vajra Freisa Kye is deep ruby in color displaying notes of red berries, roses, tobacco and a hint of white pepper. Full bodied with balanced acidity, this wine is rich and delivers a long and lasting finish.
