The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er cru 2012 from Domaine Jacques Prieur is a 100% Pinot Noir red wine produced in the appellation of Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy. The grapes grow in vineyards classified 1er cru in this appellation, often regarded as the source of the most intense and full-bodied wines of the region. The vineyards enjoys a marginal continental climate. They are planted in iron-rich loam soils over marlstone and limestone subsoils.
At the tasting this wine displays an intense red color. Its vibrant bouquet develops dried violet and dark berriey aromas. This medium-bodied wine presents crisp, vivacious tannins on the palate, followed by a brittle and refreshing finish.
