Château Prieuré-Lichine

Chateau Prieure-Lichine's large, 70 hectare (173 acres) vineyard stretches over five villages in the Margaux appellation. Acquired by the Balland group in June 1999, the estate has greatly benefitted from the new owners' efforts since that date.
Vineyard plots are managed separately to make the most of each one, and Biological pest control is used. The grapes are picked by hand into small crates. They are destemmed without crushing, sorted on specially adapted tables before being put into vat, and malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrel, where the lees are stirred with a stick.
Our philosophy - to introduce a new approach to viticulture in order to be more in tune with the terrior, and to consider the diversity of our soils as an advantage.
