A sensual red from Pomerol

Chateau Vray Croix de Gay is a red wine produced on a 3.67 hectare vineyard in Pomerol. Chateau Vray Croix de Gay has vines that are, on average 53 years old and planted on clay and gravel.  The chateau plans on converting to organic farming and biodynamics in 2018. Harvest occurred from September 22 - October 6, 2016. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Vray Croix de Gay 2016 has tannins that are well integrated and pure. The wine is charming, and sensual, revealing a fantastic aromatic freshness. Will drink well from 2020-2045 and beyond.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 Vray Croix de Gay, now co-owned by Paul Goldschmidt and Artemis Domaines, has a very composed bouquet with attractive, mineral-infused black and red fruit tinged with black truffle and sage. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle, almost understated opening, almost deceiving as it opens up and gains more and more depth towards the precise and sophisticated finish. Yes, this is a great Vray Croix de Gay that should age in consummate style. This is very fine.
