Description
A structured, elegant and fine red wine from Saint-Julien
Producing wine from a vineyard of 104 hectares in the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Talbot is a 4ème Cru Classé en 1855. The property is named after the legendary Constable Talbot, a famous English warrior who lost his way at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Aged 50 years on average, the vines are planted in soils composed of Médoc gravel. The aging of the wine is carried out in barrels, of which 50% are new barrels. The 2002 vintage bends 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
The Château Talbot 2002 unveils an intense, complex and elegant nose, developing aromas of dried fruits, spices and toast. On the palate one observes very rich and harmonious tannins, mixed with tasty touches of great delicacy. A wine with a powerful structure, elegant and extremely fine, with a purity typical of any great Médoc.
