A fruity, gourmet white from Sauternes

Classified First Growth, Chateau Suduiraut is a white wine from a blend of Semillon (94%) and Sauvignon Blanc (6%). The vineyard is planted in the Sauternes appellation. The wine is matured in oak barrels for 18 months, with 50% new barrels.

After a rather rainy start to the year, the sun made its grand entrance in June. July was the beginning of high weather temperatures and the first period that the grapes became raisined. The second raisining period occurred on October 11th after refreshing rains. The last two weeks were the most qualitative and quantitative. Harvest was from September 22nd to November 9th in 4 passes.

Chateau Suduiraut 2016 presents itself as a promising wine, magnificently fruity and balanced.
