Gerard Perse, owner of the celebrated Château Pavie of Saint Emilion, is a strong believer in the potential of Castillon, which resembles Saint Emilion in many ways. This large estate, boasting vines averaging 37 years of age, is planted on a clayey limestone slope. Planted with Merlot and both Cabernets, Sainte-Colombe is tended and vinified with skill, resulting in a ripe, accessible wine with attractive forward fruit.
