Description
A cozy red wine from Saint-Estèphe
A red wine produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Lafon-Rochet is a 4ème cru classé. Aged 40 years on average, the vines enjoy a terroir consisting of deep gravel and gravel on clay. The aging of the wine is carried out in French oak barrels (of which 50% are new barrels), for 16 to 18 months on average. The blend of the 2007 vintage contains 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.
Château Lafon-Rochet 2007 reveals a balanced nose, combining freshness and precision. On the palate, it offers tasty touches of spices and white pepper, a magnificent length and enveloping tannins. A cozy wine to consume now or before 2030 (tasted in 2015 by the estate).
