Chandon de Briailles : Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er cru "Les Lavieres" 2012

The Premier Cru les Lavières terroir is composed of flat limestone stones formerly used to reroof Burgundy houses and called Lave. The Pinot Noir vineyard is about 50 years old and benefits from the finest part of the Savigny-les-Beaune appellation. This Premier Cru 2012 les Lavières from Domaine Chandon de Briailles is a very elegant wine. Its structure is fine and precise, and expresses a strong minerality which gives the wine a great aromatic complexity that increases over the years. In its youth, one can find floral aromas such as violet, with a hint of liquorice. It carries light smoky and gunflint notes. It possesses a great persistence on the palate.
