Description
The Cascina delle Rose Tre Stelle Barbaresco comes from an estate located in Barbaresco's Rio Sordo Valley. Spanning only 3 hectares, the estate is run by Giovanna Rizzolio and his sons. Overrun by roses as the name suggests, comes from hillside vineyards of clay and calcareous soils. Once ripe, the grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and fermented by natural yeasts. Aging takes place in large old botti grandi for 24-30 months. The Cascina delle Rose Tre Stelle Barbaresco displays a pure Nebbiolo , character of dried cherries, rose petals, autumn leaves and licorice. The palate of lively acidity is balanced by elegant tannins, structured for the long haul but approachable today. Enjoy with game meats, blue cheese or pasta with red sauces.
