From the Asbrook Estate comes this 100% Semillon wine. Semillon is a grape variety mostly associated with Sauternes, however this wine couldn't be more different in character than Sauternes. For starters, this is not a sweet dessert wine, but instead a dry white, medium in body with a zesty finish. The fresh fruit flavors are backed by an understated nutty character in the background. The grapes for this wine are hand harvested over several weeks time to ensure a multitude of layers both on the nose and palate. The 2012 Ashbrook Estate Semillon is unwooded to retain the fresh flavors and zingy acidity. This wine has received several accolades over the years as well as plenty of 90+ point ratings.
